20th - 21st November 2019
Prompted by the need to proffer practicable and effective solutions to the increasingly dire drug abuse situation in Nigeria; and the need to ensure that civil society inputs is not relegated as the Federal Government prepares to issue policy pronouncements based on the recommendations by the Buba Marwa-led Presidential Advisory Committee on Drug Abuse (PACEDA), members of the World Federation Against Drugs {Nigeria Chapter} in collaboration with the Civil Society Network on Substance and Drug Abuse {CSNetSDA} organized a 2-day Drug Abuse Advocacy Workshop and Policy Review Meeting.
The Meeting featured Civil Society Organizations from across the Nigerian Federation and representation by key Federal agencies saddled with issues of Drug abuse – these are the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Nigeria Security Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The group is now striving towards attaining the agenda set at the meeting.
